Minigolf en la feria de diseño de Milán

Cuéllar Stone participates in the construction of a miniature golf course designed by Korean JinSik Kim

Our company had the honour to take part in the construction in marble of all the elements designed by the prestigious JinSik Kim for the production of one of its last creations. It is a mini golf course designed for its possible location at a hotel.

JinSik’s creation has been showed by the Wallpaper magazine in a new edition of Handmade at the Leclettico Galery in Milan, during the last International Furniture Show held on last April.

Kim selected for the production a unique material combination: marble and textile material (Bolon’s), and for that he joined two leading companies in their own sectors, through the prestigious international magazine Wallpaper.

For the production process of the mini golf exhibited, Cuellar manufactured the marble pieces selecting possible materials in accordance to the designer’s specifications, producing each one of the course parts and installing the parts at the Milan exhibition.

To Cuéllar, this innovative project turned into an exciting challenge and it has also made possible to establish constructive relationships with the other participants, especially Studio JinSik Kim. The result of this work, cooperating with the designer has been extremely satisfactory since the goal has been accomplished.

JinSik defined the concept of his project this way: “Starting point of the mini golf is to show balance with strong contrast between graphic shape and weighty material like marble. The course seems to be afloat and player can play with tension because marble makes right balance of mini golf course to hit a ball. The mini golf is more playful because of afloat effect from ground and player will get experience to play golf on the water. I would like to design a mini golf that looks well in a hotel lobby and room like a sculpture.”
