Natural stone sculptures

Estatua de Cervantes Don Quijote

Since there is a record of human civilization, sculptures forged in natural stone have been central elements from different cultures representing their symbols or Gods.

There are many representations in natural stone that we still conserve and that were a turning point for past civilizations such as the Memnon (Egyptian civilization), the Venus de Milo (Greek civilization), the Augustus of Prima Porta (Roman Empire) or more contemporary ones such as Michelangelo's David (Renaissance).

Cuellar Stone is a specialist in the elaboration of statues and sculptures in natural stone. With more than 60 years of experience in the craftsmanship of natural stone, Cuellar Stone has a large number of expert craftsmen who apply their skills to give the work personality and perfection.

For the realization of a sculpture in natural stone, Cuellar Stone begins with the realization of sketches and drawings of the sculpture. Subsequently, a scale model of the sculpture is made in clay, plasticine and lately, new techniques such as virtual 3D modeling are being used.

Once all the details of the sculpture have been reflected in the model, the piece is scanned. This is the moment when the actual manufacturing process begins. The stone blocks are machined and molded to an almost final state where the added value of the Cuellar Stone craftsmen is applied to finish shaping and characterizing all the details of the sculpture.

Finally, Cuellar Stone has the exact designs of many of the most famous statues in the history of mankind made of natural stone such as Venus de Milo, Michelangelo's David or The Victory of Samothrace, being able to recreate exact replicas of it in any material.
