Cuellar Stone makes the first marble sculpture of the artist Antonio López
Cuellar Stone has been the company in charge of producing the ambicious project called La Mujer del Almanzora, the biggest sculpture largest in Spain designed by the renowned artist Antonio López.
The project has been a technical and production challenge. The sculpture has gross dimensions of 8 meters by 8 meters, with a total weight of 180 tons, and is composed of 82 pieces of White Macael marble, each one coming from a different block. Some pieces of the sculpture weigh 3 tons and each one of them is different and solid. This marble sculpture is hollow inside and the marble pieces are joined through a metallic structure installed inside. The entire manufacturing process took just five months.
The 82 blocks of Macael white were donated by Cosentino Group, the architect in charge of managing this magnificent project has been Andrés García Ibáñez and the designer of this fantastic job is the artist Antonio López.
